Christine is an Economist based in Calgary, with 9 years of experience in the electricity industry. She has experience in regulatory and markets. Christine’s experience includes distribution connected generation (DCG) issues in Alberta (e.g., DCG Credits such as Option M, substation fraction, adjusted metering, etc.), transmission and distribution tariff, performance-based regulation, regulated rate option energy price-setting plans, and capacity markets.
She has worked with a range of clients in all segments of the electricity market, with a particular focus on utilities and generation owners and developers, including DCG developers, renewable generation developers, and co-generation owners. Christine has testified before the Alberta Utilities Commission and represented clients in Alberta Electric System Operator consultations. She has also worked behind the scenes on regulatory application development and support.
Prior to joining the Elenchus and Power Advisory alliance, Christine worked for the Alberta Utilities Commission in the distribution rates department where she worked to develop the 2018-2022 performance-based regulation plan and supported numerous other rate applications. Prior to the Alberta Utilities Commission, she worked for the Alberta Electric System Operator in the competitive process department, where she was involved in designing a competitive procurement process and using that process to bid out the Fort McMurray West transmission project, which was later modified and used for the Renewable Electricity Program.
Christine holds an MA in Economics from the University of Calgary.
